YOUNG ASPIRING ACTRESS AND FILMMAKER WINS OUR GLOBAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION AND EXCLUSIVE TRIP TO THE UK

We are delighted to announce the winner of the short film competition Shakespeare Shorts. Aspiring filmmaker Celia Cooley from Virginia, USA has won the competition with her film Oh, Romeo: The Forbidden Love Between a Girl and her Cat.

Open to entrants of any age and based anywhere in the world, Shakespeare Shorts was a new competition website for filmmakers. Entrants were invited to create short films that are inspired by, or reinterpret, Shakespeare’s works.

The competition attracted 96 entries from countries around the world, including Russia, Turkey and the USA, with 23 films making the final gallery of winners.

Shakespeare Shorts launched in May 2016 and encouraged new, emerging and amateur filmmakers to showcase their talents and interpret Shakespeare in a unique and original way. Entrants were all ages and level of experience.
